Steps to make Sweet coconut flakes:
- Break the coconut and collect the water to drink.
- Remove the meat from the shell using a knife
- Grate or cut the coconut into smaller pieces
- In a non stick pan, add water(u can use the coconut water instead of ordinary water but I love to drink it😊), sugar and stir until it completely dissolves. This should be done on a medium heat
- Add in ur shredded coconut and begin to stir every 40 seconds. Once u notice that the water has dried up, start to stir continuously.
- As u stir, the color will begin to change. When it's brown, take it off the heat and pour in a tray to cool off. I stirred for 20mins on medium heat
- Once it's cool, pour into ur sieve to sieve out the tiny burnt coconut. Serve or keep in a air tight container. This can last for weeks.
