The ingredients needed to make Spicy Okra:
- Get 500 gram okras
- Get 3 tbsp oil or butter
- Prepare 2 big onion finely chopped
- Prepare 1 tbsp coriander powder
- Take 1 tsp chilli powder
- Get 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Get Salt as a taste
- Get 1 tsp cumin powder
- Get 1 tsp Black pepper powder

Toss okra with spiced salt mixture. Wash the okra, rubbing lightly to remove any grit and fuzz. Scrub okra, rinse with cold water and pat dry with a towel. Halve okra lengthwise, cut into disks or leave whole and place okra in a large bowl.
Instructions to make Spicy Okra:
- Heat some oil in a pan and add Cumin Seeds in it. Fry the Cumin Seeds for a few seconds till they start to splutter then add chopped garlic and chilli, sauté a minute
- Add chopped okra and add chopped onion - Mix and fry on a medium flame until the stickiness goes off. Keep stirring and fry.
- Now add turmeric, red chilli powder, black pepper powder and coriander powder as well. - Mix and fry just for a minute or two.
- Now add salt and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on low flame until okra turns soft.
Scrub okra, rinse with cold water and pat dry with a towel. Halve okra lengthwise, cut into disks or leave whole and place okra in a large bowl. Drizzle olive oil over okra and toss. Add salt and cayenne pepper and toss to coat. Dry Spicy Okra or Dry Masala Bhindi is a very popular, staple and loved dish in Indian cuisine.
